Calvary Baptist Church Missions Fellowship

One of the aspects of our ministry is connecting with and giving ministry updates to Church and mission groups. We do so on behalf of Arrowhead as well as ourselves. It is always a blessing to be with the folks at Calvary Baptist Church in Miramichi. This particular visit Kyle had an opportunity to share about the ministry he is involved in at Arrowhead as well.

Summer Draws Nigh

As summer approaches there is lots going on here at the Center. This past Saturday we had a few folks come and join us to help with some of the property clean-up that is in much need of doing! We can't thank those of you who came out to do this work; it is such a huge benefit to the ministry here.

It was great to have Ed out to help clear some of the hurricane damaged trees.

Matthew was so kind as to haul away the garbage wood, we filled three truckloads.

After the work day on Saturday we prepared to go to Miramichi on Sunday morning where we had the opportunity to give a ministry update and open God's Word together with the folks at Calvary Baptist Church. It was such a blessing to be able to be with them there!

On Monday we had Matthew & Leonard back to help us with the driveway. It was getting to the point where it was nearly impassable without some difficult. So it is a huge blessing to have this much needed repair done to the lower driveway.

A long overdue update!

Hello friends, I must first begin by making apologies for the long delay in this post hitting the interwebs. Since camp has concluded, we have remained exceptionally busy; first with our Eastern Field conference and the grand opening of the Waban-Aki Book Shop. We have spent the past several weeks doing a great deal of travel and ministry updates as we've visited family and friends abroad. But prior to that we hosted our annual ladies retreat here at Arrowhead.

There was a smaller turn out this year than in past years, but a wonderful time of fellowship and teaching of the Fruit of the Spirit was enjoyed by the ladies. Special music was brought by Jane Ness and Theresa Hickman.

 Of course, craft time is always important.

After the ladies retreat, we had the pleasure of visiting and opening the Word at Forest Hills Fellowship Baptist Church in Cole Harbour, NS. It is always wonderful to be with the folks there and share with them what has been happening with NCEM at ANBC.

The following week we were given the wonderful opportunity to have a few days of rest in North Conway in New Hampshire. We were able to enjoy some relaxation and time together in a beautiful community, we even visited the Fryeburg Fair - a wonderful agricultural fair in Maine.

It was such a wonderful blessing to be able to have these few days of vacation together. We are so very thankful for the kindness of friends who made this possible for us.

After our little vacation we were truly blessed to be able to share with our friends at Lisbon Falls Baptist Church in Lisbon Falls, Maine. We will also be looking forward to having a group of folks come from there to join us at the end of this month for a week of ministry in labour at the Center! We treasure our time with them at this time of year!

Upon our return from Maine we enjoyed a one day trip to the Miramichi to be with the missions society of Calvary Baptist Church for the first of their monthly meetings for this fall. They are a committed group of believers who apply themselves to prayerfully and financially supporting missions.

Our last visit this fall was with our friends at The People's Church in Truro, NS to be a part of their missions conference this past weekend. We shared with them the upcoming work weeks and our need for labourers - and the response has been overwhelming. There is a gentleman with a construction company who is planning to bring some of his crew up to help us install the roof steel on our cabins.

Although, as a family, we are feeling a bit weary we are so encouraged and excited about the ministry here at ANBC. We really feel that the Lord is preparing ANBC for some growth in ministry. We will have opportunity for a rest for the month of December as we work in the office and prepare for the new year - and I know that we will look back fondly at all of the wonderful things that the Lord has done this fall. It is a blessing for us to be able to serve here at Arrowhead and we very much love the ministry here.

a day trip to Calvary

We had planned a visit to Calvary Baptist Church in Miramichi in February. Unfortunately, as can be the case with New Brunswick weather, we were snowed out. Last night we were pleased to be able to visit with the Missions Group and bring an update about Arrowhead, some of the changes and opportunities for ministry. It was a wonderful encouragement to be able to fellowship with the folks and bring a short challenge from the Word.

It was a nice afternoon for a drive, although it was rainy and dark on the return trip, and we saw only one moose. We are ever thankful for safety as we travel.

Pastor Gary Countway has been serving at Arrowhead in the capacity of guest speaker for many years, and we are excited that he will be joining us again this summer for our second week of junior camp. We will be hosting campers from Oromocto that week, and Lord willing some from other communities as well.

Last night was our last scheduled speaking engagement until volunteer training begins in June. We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Baby Fawcett and have felt that, coupled with all of the work of camp prep, it would be prudent to stay close to the Center at this point. We look forward to returning to the road to visit with friends and churches in the Fall. a fall full of fun...

We've continued to keep busy through the month of September. After the Eastern Field conference was over we had a family reunion held at the Center. This wasn't a lot of work for us, but we had to have the buildings open and cleaned for the group.

Last week Liz and I had the privilege of visiting the Missions Group at Calvary Baptist Church in Miramichi. We gave an update on camp and training with the Strouts. It is always so encouraging to be among people with a heart for missions and a burden for souls.

On Saturday we traveled to Hermon, Maine with our colleagues Kevin & Marcia for a missions conference. What a huge encouragement it was to be there. Not only to be blessed by the folks there, but also to hear from the other missionaries serving in other parts of the world. Kevin's parent's graciously offered to watch their children while they were away, allowing them to travel with us for the weekend. It was a great opportunity for the four of us to spend some time together and recharge a bit after the busy year. We all enjoyed ourselves very much.

We are now beginning to prepare for a work team that will be coming from Lisbon Falls, Maine on October 4th. They will be with us for the week and are coming to help us complete some projects that have been under way. Anyone that would like to come and join the crew for the week are more than welcome, we've got jobs for everyone!

We've been having some trouble with our car lately, the transmission is shot. But the Lord has provided, I was able to buy another car of the same make and model. This means we will be able to use our tires and parts from the old car if and when the new one needs them. Lord willing we will be mobile again for a while.

Calvary Baptist Church Miramichi

Last night, Kevin and I had the great pleasure of sharing with the missionary prayer group of Calvary Baptist Church in Miramichi. We met with about a dozen others in the home of Dana and Sherry Waye. It was a great blessing to be able to share in song and prayer for missionaries at home and abroad.

We had the opportunity to share with the group about the ministry at Arrowhead and what the Lord has been doing at A.N.B.C. and in the lives of both of our families. It was certainly a great encouragement to share in their enthusiasm for the ministry. We are looking forward to ministering with some of them this coming summer!
